The print settings are good but there is no preview.
If you’re sending an email to a group (as created in the Contacts app), you can’t see who is in the group nor expand it to remove an address. When you paste in a screenshot, it’s massive and impossible to get it the correct size without it going blurry. I have a service to convert to capitals with Cmd-Shift-U) and alt-arrow down/up moves line by line, not paragraph by paragraph. The Control-T shortcut (swap two characters around) doesn’t work (though other things do, e.g. to delete an email.ĭoesn't support some standard macOS features you’d expect: keyboard shortcuts can’t be changed (they show up as changed in the menus but don’t work). The new email alert doesn’t provide any functions e.g. I will stick with Postbox but there are several annoyances I have come across so far: Its file attachments are also much better, showing them all at the bottom or allowing an image to be placed inline or as an attachment. Postbox also provides some folders you’d expect to exist, like a junk folder that shows your junk from all accounts – Mail removed this and now you have to creat a smart folder for it. The main reason I switched is because Mail’s search function was proving to be utterly useless – Postbox’s actually works. Provides useful features that Apple Mail doesn’t. That would be a shame, because I haven't seen any other email client (on any platform) that I like as well as this one. But if that revolution doesn't happen, I'm afraid the future of Postbox will be to just run in buggy and inefficient emulation over the next few OS releases, until Rosetta is phased out, when it will no longer run at all. The benefits of doing this would be felt by Windows and Linux users as well, of course.

I would support a fundraiser for such an update and a subscription license for a fresh version of Postbox.

Given that the app seems to be based on Thunderbird (a code base that is a little long in the tooth), updating for Silicon is probably going to mean a complete rewrite from scratch. Having bought a lifetime license, I realize the company has no incentive to update the macOS app, as it won't bring them any more revenue from users like me. Now that I am working solely on a Silicon Macbook, I'm concerned about the future. The problem isn't limited to just one contact.I adopted Postbox for its cross-platform consistency while working in Windows, Linux, and Mac OS, and I like the way it works.
I've tried deleting and re-creating the email contacts when this bug happens in PostBox. No real way to contact these people!Īfter having shelled out $50 for this Postbox, I'm about to switch back to Thunderbird (even though the current TB version still lacks the ability to simply specify my "reply text color"), but wanted to ask here first if anyone has encountered this PostBox issue I described above.
I've tried to contact the company via a bug report (several times) but they are totally unresponsive. try again.until PostBox acts as expected.
To actually get to the next field, I have to totally delete whatever is on the TO, CC or BCC line and. Postbox Express is missing some of Postbox's best features.
#POSTBOX EMAIL FREE FREE#
Windows/Mac: Previously mentioned email client Hive Five contender Postbox just released a free version of their powerful email client. If I hit TAB or ENTER again it just repeats the address again and again. To open the Postbox Address book, click the toolbar button, or go to Tools Address Book (Windows) or Window Address Book (macOS). I've been having a problem with PostBox for many months where often, but not always, when I type in a TO or CC or BCC name into the respective field and then hit TAB instead of going to the next field, PostBox just repeats the email address in that field.
